The American Cancer Society is marking the 37th Great American Smokeout this Thursday, November 15th by encouraging smokers to make a plan to quit or plan in advance to quit smoking that day. By quitting, even for one day, smokers can take an important step towards a healthier life: one that can lead to reducing cancer risk.
Quitting may seem difficult, but you can increase your chances of success with a little help. Through anti-smoking programs, resources and support, the American Cancer Society can increase your chances of quitting successfully. Call the American Cancer Society (ACS) at 1-800-227-2345 or visit the Great American Smokeout page to find free tips and tools.
Also, if you’re a United Healthcare medical plan participant, you can use the online Smoking Cessation Coaching Program located on the myuhc.com site to help you quit smoking.
