A Multivitamin’s Effect on Heart Disease in Men

Think that multivitamin you’re taking every day is lowering your risk of heart problems down the road? Sadly, it might not be.

A new study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, reports that taking a daily multivitamin does not reduce a man’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease. The multivitamin’s present no benefit or risk when it comes to the heart.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that about 50 percent of American adults take a dietary supplement such as multivitamins daily.
