admin - January 7, 2011

A Sky News HD article reports that a new survey taken by the UK Stroke Association and sponsor Siemens UK resulted in one in seven Britons saying “they are feeling extremely stressed.“

Because stress can increase blood pressure and a third of strokes aredirectly related to high blood pressure, the Association is warning that thissilent killer could take its toll.

And of course, this isn’t just a problem in England. The American Institute of Stress calls stress “America’s #1 Health Problem.”

No matter where you live, the answers to reducing the risk of stroke are found in common, simple steps:  Know your blood pressure, work with your doctor to keep it managed, eat a nutritious diet, and exercise.
