Your Weekly Inspiration: How Far You’ve Come

Having a healthy lifestyle isn’t easy. It takes determination and hard work. It takes focus. If you focus on the wrong aspect, like how much farther you have to go, you’re much more likely to abandon your new healthy routine.

This is true for many goals we have in life. For instance, let’s say you plan to walk on the treadmill at least three times a week for the entire summer. After a few weeks, you’re feeling unmotivated and even a little bored. Instead of looking at how much longer you have to stick to your goal, whether it’s a few more weeks or a few more months, you should instead focus on how far you’ve come since you first started. Use that as your motivation to continue moving forward.

The journey towards good health isn’t an easy one. Eating right and staying active take serious willpower to accomplish for long periods of time until they become habit. Don’t give up. Every day you stick to your healthy lifestyle, you’ve accomplished something huge. Focus on what you’ve accomplished, and keep going.

Focus on how far you've come not how far you have to go
