Getting into a routine can be comforting. You feel safe with what you’re doing because you’ve been doing it for so long. This can be the case for many of life circumstances, from jobs, to hobbies, to health. Sometimes, however, routine can lead to hitting a plateau – when what once worked fine isn’t cutting it anymore.
That’s when you know it’s time to switch things up. Not feeling challenged by your job or hobbies anymore? Consider looking for other opportunities. Feeling bored and not seeing results from your workout routine? Make it harder. Allowing yourself to hit a plateau, but then not making an effort to get over it, won’t do you any good.
So, take a step outside of your comfort zone this week. You might find it’s just what you needed.
