Your Weekly Motivation: You Are Strong

admin - October 7, 2013

About 232,340 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed among American women in 2013. For those women, true strength wasn’t discovered until they had no choice but to be strong. That’s what makes the human spirit so amazing.

Breastcancer.org, the non-profit organization dedicated to providing reliable and up-to-date information on breast cancer, reports that about 1 in 8 women (or 12 percent of the female U.S. population) will develop invasive breast cancer during the course of her lifetime. While this fact is startling, the positive side does exist. If a breast cancer diagnosis occurs, strength is not far behind. Strength can fuel the fire of recovery.

As we celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness month this month, let’s come together to inspire strength within each other. Woman or man, thirty-year-old or fifty-year-old, we are all strong.

As a thirty-two year male sufferer of added monosodium glutamate (MSG) poisoning curious to learn if the epidemic of female breast cancer commenced with the 1980 FDA approval of the expanded use of added MSG, to my surprise the epidemic began about 1978, two years earlier. Not consistent with the FDA approval of MSG it is consistent with the early ’70s FDA approval of petro-chemical (hexane) treated soy products. The mortality rate for female breast cancer may be declining but wouldn’t prevention be a better course?
